From Failure at EWTN to Vatican Communication Reform? This morning, Leo XIV received the new Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, the divorced Zionist Maria Montserrat Alvarado, in audience. During his pontificate, Leo XIV has met the current Prefect, Paolo Ruffini, only rarely and has not held private audiences with other senior Vatican communications officials, including Matteo Bruni, Andrea Tornielli, and Andrea Monda, seeing them only at public events. Alvarado will officially take office in November. Last year, her effort to consolidate EWTN's international news operations under a single EwtnNews.com platform did not achieve its intended goal. The project remained English-only and failed to become the successful international news site originally envisioned.

Leo XIV accelerates Vatican communications shake-up: Alvarado meeting signals change at Palazzo Pio

The future head of the Dicastery is already working on its most sensitive dossiers ahead of formally taking office in November. This morning, the Holy Father received Dr Maria Montserrat Alvarado, Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, in audience. Leo XIV’s decision to meet her so promptly, as plans are being drawn up to reorganise the Holy See’s communications operation, is significant. In more than a year as Pope, he has received Paolo Ruffini only rarely and has never held private talks with the other leading figures in Vatican communications, including Matteo Bruni, Andrea Tornielli and Andrea Monda, whom he has met only at public events. Alvarado has come to Rome to begin the handover ahead of formally taking charge of the Dicastery in November. In recent days, she has visited its various offices, spoken to staff and begun looking into a number of matters on which she had already been given detailed briefings. From the outset at Palazzo Pio, she has sought explanations and …

Trailer | Fr. Ripperger on How the Devil Attacks Your Family
Satan and his demons are targeting your family—but his attacks are often far more subtle than most Catholics realize. Exorcist Fr. Chad Ripperger explains why the devil's primary strategy is often not dramatic possession, but subtle attacks on our thoughts, perceptions, and relationships. Drawing from Sacred Scripture, years of experience as an exorcist, and the wisdom of the saints, he reveals how resentment, distorted assumptions, and the loss of daily self-sacrifice slowly erode marriages and family life—and what Catholics can do to resist these attacks. He also highlights God's providence, the purpose of suffering, spiritual discipline, the reality of the occult, and how to achieve holiness in a world increasingly marked by spiritual conflict. 💲Use Coupon Code CGS50 to get 50% off any work of Spiritual Warfare at TAN Books: Books - Topic - Spiritual Warfare - Page 1 - TAN … Special recommendations: 📕 The Liber Christo …More

"The La Razón report should nevertheless be treated with caution...La Razón presents the alleged papal involvement in the January document as a significant revelation. Yet the suggestion that Cardinal Roche would have produced and circulated such a document without the knowledge or approval of the Pope is difficult to sustain... " "The background of the article’s author should also be considered when assessing its presentation. José Beltrán, who wrote the La Razón report, is director of Vida Nueva, a Spanish Catholic publication generally associated with a more progressive ecclesial outlook and which has historically taken a critical view of movements attached to the Traditional Latin Mass. That does not invalidate the reporting, and the claims should be judged on their evidence rather than the author’s personal or editorial background...." "There is also a question of consistency between La Razón‘s interpretation and other indications of Pope Leo XIV’s approach. The report portrays the …More

Leo XIV Ordered Anti-Mass Document and Approved Wording - Report

Leo XIV approved Cardinal Arthur Roche's text against the Traditional Latin Mass, reaffirming Francis' Traditionis Custodes, reports LaRazon.es on August 2. The text was distributed to about 170 cardinals at the January 7 consistory.
Key phrase: "This newspaper has been able to confirm that the cardinal distributed the text at the request of Leo XIV and therefore with the Pope's approval of its contents."
According to the newspaper, Cardinal Roche and officials from his dicastery drafted the document at the Pope's request.
Leo XIV then personally reviewed it.
"He did not change a single comma," Vatican sources said, adding that "the distribution of the document to the cardinals was intended to make the new Pope's position on this issue visible."
The one-and-a-half-page document defended Traditionis Custodes, describing Tradition as a "living river" rather than a static preservation of past forms. It claimed that the Novus Ordo is fully consistent with authentic Tradition.

"Preserving the Liturgy Is Part of Preserving the Faith" – Bishop Schneider

"Preserving the precious treasure of the traditional liturgy is part of preserving the Deposit of Faith," Bishop Athanasius Schneider said in his homily on August 2 in Limerick, Ireland, at the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest.
He is currently celebrating Mass and delivering talks in various locations across Ireland, including Cobh, Leixlip, Monaghan and Ardee. Previously, he was in Africa. In July, he led the golden jubilee celebrations of the Congregation of the Mothers and Missionaries of the Holy Cross in Puma, Tanzania.
Interfering with the Liturgy Destroys Religion
In Sunday's homily, Bishop Schneider recalled that "history has proved a thousand times that there is nothing more dangerous for a religion - nothing more likely to result in discontent, unrest, division, and apostasy - than interference with the liturgy and, consequently, with religious sensibility."
He recalled the apostolic rule: "Antiquity was retained. Novelty was rejected." Quoting Dom Prosper Guéranger …More

CARDINAL AND BISHOPS IN PAKISTAN SAY OUTSIDE THE CATHOLIC CHURCH THERE IS NO SALVATION ACCORDING TO VATICAN COUNCIL II INTERPRETED RATIONALLY.
No denial of reports on Internet
The cardinals and bishops in Pakistan are saying outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation, according to Vatican Council II interpreted only rationally. Ad Gentes 7 is aligned with extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) of the Council of Florence 1442, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church 845-846, while LG 8, 14, 16, UR 3, NA 2, Gs 22 etc in Vatican Council II are not practical exceptions for AG 7, EENS, CCC 845-846 and the exclusivist ecclesiology of the Roman Missal at the Latin Mass.
The Catholic Church is compared, by St. Thomas Aquinas, to a ship in which all need to enter for salvation, similar to the Ark of Noah. This is the pre and post Conciliar teaching.
This teaching will be taught at the Catechetical Centers and educational institutions in Pakistan. This was the teaching over the …More

Blanche Gives G.O.P. Senators Written Assurances on Trump’s I.R.S. Deal
Todd Blanche’s confirmation as attorney general has been held up over concerns about a planned $1.8 billion fund for Trump allies and the president’s immunity from tax scrutiny.
nytimes.com/…us/politics/todd-blanche-trump-irs-f…
By Michael GoldAndrew Duehren and Hari Raj
Aug. 3, 2026, 1:18 a.m. ET Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general, confirmed in writing on Sunday night that the Justice Department would abandon elements of the deal it struck with President Trump to resolve his lawsuit against the I.R.S., conceding to demands from Republican senators who had threatened to block his nomination as attorney general.
The Republican holdouts, Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina, had demanded that Mr. Blanche provide written assurances that the Justice Department had formally killed a planned $1.8 billion fund to pay those who claim they were unfairly persecuted by the government.

The Antilles Episcopal Conference has published a Pastoral Letter on Sexual and Gender Identity on the 26 July. They state that, “We must resist narratives that suggest the human person is a self-made project, detached from biological reality or moral order. The human body is not an accessory to identity.” The Antilles Episcopal Conference further stated that, “Sex is not a spectrum. It is a binary reality, inscribed in our nature, affirmed by biology, and upheld by faith.” And that: “A person may say, ‘I feel like a woman’ or ‘I feel like a man,’ but such feelings, however sincere, do not define reality. To feel like a woman is not to be one. Feelings are not facts.”

"To Feel Like a Woman Is Not to Be One" - Caribbean Bishops

The Antilles Episcopal Conference published a Pastoral Letter on Sexual and Gender Identity on 26 July (full text below). Main quotes.
- We must resist narratives that suggest the human person is a self-made project, detached from biological reality or moral order.
- The human body is not an accessory to identity.
- The confusion of our times - driven by ideologies that detach the body from identity, treat desire as destiny, and blur sexual difference - compels us to offer the light of the Gospel and the wisdom of Christian anthropology.
- The body is not a barrier to identity but a revelation of it. It is through our male or female embodiment that our unique personhood and our capacity for relationship are revealed.
- It is a scientific fact, not a social construct, that human beings are sexually dimorphic.
- Sex, then, is not arbitrarily 'assigned' at birth; it is determined at conception through the presence or absence of the SRY gene. If activated, the gene initiates the development …More

The Prisoner Who Returned to Celebrate the Eucharist
On 31 July 2026, Cardinal Ernest Simoni celebrated the Eucharist at the former communist prison camp of Spaç in Albania. There, he spent years imprisoned and subjected to forced labor after his arrest (1963). He remained imprisoned until 1981. In a message for the occasion, Pope Leo XIV wrote that "no prison can separate a person from the love of Christ."

"Synodality is a neologism invented by Bergoglio to destroy the Catholic Church, to democratize and Protestantize it. Let's call things by their name, my dears, because I'm fed up with being taken for fools! The Church is One, Holy, Catholic, and Roman, not synodal. That's anti-Catholic.
What can synodality possibly give us? Well, the Church was already full of foxes, and now it will be even more so. Jesus Christ founded a hierarchical, non-democratic Church. It's not that Catholicism isn't democratic, but rather that it's anti-democratic, because Jesus Christ was condemned to death democratically.

Never Forget God During Life's Trials
The gospel reading emphasizes God’s care for us, highlighting that we are of greater value than sparrows. The true question is not whether God remembers us, but whether we remember Him, especially during difficult times. We should strive to acknowledge and glorify God in all circumstances, recognizing His will and trusting in His providence.
