Cardinal Michael Czerny, SJ, 79, said that during the consistory on 7-8 January, he did not hear anyone say, "Oh, I’m sorry we didn’t discuss the liturgy". He told the Substack.com-account The Pillar on 13 January, that what Leo XIV will do with the Mass of the Roman Rite is "beyond my pay grade": "I can’t speculate about how he intends to approach the situation. But I can’t imagine a pope who wouldn’t want to bring peace to the Church. I think every pope since St Peter would want that," the cardinal speculated. In general, he found the consistory a "healthy" exercise. "As soon as we got together and realised that the first thing we would do was spend the whole afternoon discussing it, we realised we were already at work. People immediately switched into gear. All three sessions were good." "Not Possible Without Pope Francis" When asked if the lack of collegiality among the cardinals wasn’t the elephant in the room under Francis, Cardinal Czerny denied it, saying: “No, quite the …تېخىمۇ كۆپ
Just as the democracy of the French Revolution destroyed the monarchy, synodality seeks to destroy the structure of the Church. As for the liturgy, it's understandable that they don't want to discuss it, since the traditional liturgy doesn't fit with modernist doctrine.
Fr Murray commenting on Synodality during the consistory: "It’s troubling that Synodality is still such a point of contention." And: "As Pope Francis envisions it, Synodality represents a continuing transformation within the Church."

After examining the Marian feasts celebrated throughout the world on a given day, Fr. Nate offers a brief reflection to help make our love for Our Lady concrete in daily living. The title "No Greater Delight" is inspired by a homily of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, wherein he expresses his joy in preaching about the Virgin Mother, even though he acknowledges the challenge of adequately praising her. تېخىمۇ كۆپ
The Archdiocese of Madrid promotes the so-called Convivium process, an official diocesan consultation involving clergy, parishes, religious communities and lay groups in Madrid, Spain. According to InfoVaticana.com, the process was developed through consultation phases in 2024 and 2025, and is comparable with the German Synod. The Archdiocese of Madrid is currently led by the pro-homosexual Cardinal José Cobo. Preparations have begun for the first Convivium-named Presbyteral Assembly, which is scheduled to take place in Madrid on 9–10 February 2026. The archdiocese has recently distributed official working documents synthesising over 800 pages of submissions from parish pastoral councils, clergy, consecrated life and other ecclesial groups. The archdiocesan synthesis includes a subsection labelled 'Peculiar Proposals'. This subsection cites contributions from groups who advocate optional priestly celibacy and propose a non-lifelong or 'temporary' priesthood. They also refer to 'future …تېخىمۇ كۆپ
Another shrimpy, pencil necked, European gay, who happens to be a priest, pontificating on what the Church needs. Shut up. Go to Barcelona and live with your boyfriend. People like you kept me out of the priesthood, and I will forever resent you and spit you out of my mouth. YOU pencil necked losers destroyed my faith!

Fri Jan 16, 2026 - 12:04 pm EST (LifeSiteNews) — On Thursday, January 22, the day before the National March for Life in Washington, D.C., Rescue Resurrection participants will gather outside Health and Human Services (HHS) headquarters at 200 Independence Ave SW to call on federal leadership — including Secretary Kennedy and the Trump administration — to take decisive action to restrict and ultimately ban the abortion pill. Many pro-life icons will be participating, and your presence is needed as well. “The pro-life movement in America is hanging by a thread, as far as having true political power to end the killing,” Randall Terry, Rescue Resurrection’s founder, told LifeSiteNews in a series of exclusive interviews. “The only thing that can turn that around is ‘social tension,’” he explained. “There’s no other blueprint or playbook in American and world history where you can presume that the powerful will roll over for the weak.” Terry should know. As founder of Operation Rescue …

On 15 January, Catholics in the Diocese of Charlotte, North Carolina, prayed the Rosary publicly to protest against recent liturgical restrictions imposed by Bishop Michael Martin. These measures ban the use of kneelers for Communion, which will take effect on 16 January. The faithful gathered in front of the diocesan pastoral centre in an act of reparation.
January 15 in Charlotte, in the cold and in front of the chancery, faithful gathered to pray for our diocese, for Bishop Martin, and in reparation for his liturgical directives.

Once, the faithful were warned of eternal consequences. Today, they are reassured, entertained, and comforted—but rarely converted. Sermons speak of self-esteem, positivity, and vague love, while the Four Last Things—Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell—are ignored or softened to the point of irrelevance. This silence is not mercy. I write today with a heavy heart about a personal faith-related discussion that I had yesterday with a local Vicar—the matter related to a material desecration that took place (of all days) on Christmas Day. A friend and I were both witnesses to it. While the incident was a misunderstanding, it was clearly and blatantly avoidable. Anyone with a discerning heart and mind could obviously see the circumstances that lent themselves to it. This same friend and I wrote a letter to the Vicar about it. We did receive an appointment to discuss the matter in person. However, by the end of the discussion, the vicar’s posture and message regarding the incident became clear. And, while not explicit, the general message was: “s#!t happens” For Catholics, the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. Everything else is a distant second. It was the equivalent of hearing from the doctor charged with caring for your father or mother that they fell down the stairs during their hospital stay……تېخىمۇ كۆپ
Leo XIV’s consistory in January did not involve a general debate, Cardinal Raymond Burke told Edward Pentin for his Substack.com-account on 16 January. The consistory adopted a format closer to Francis’s synods, with discussion confined almost entirely to small groups:"All the discussion took place in the small group, and then in the general session there was simply a report from the secretaries." Divide and Conquer Burke added that the way the consistory was structured did not allow for so-called free interventions. The two plenary sessions permitted only brief interventions: "Each intervention was limited to three minutes, so just 15 cardinals could speak in one session." With more than 160 cardinals present, many were left unheard. In the small groups, "the topics were assigned, and then there was a whole structure that had to be followed at the tables". 1 Samuel 9:1-4, 10c, 17-19; 10:1 Samuel said to Saul, “The Lord anoints you ruler over his people Israel.” A reminder that it is better to lead a people with God’s love, joy, and peace. Mark 2:13-17 “Jesus went out along the sea. All the crowd came to him and he taught them.” The phrase “the whole crowd came to him” means more than just those people at that time. All crowds and leaders would benefit from allowing the Lord to reign over the people and in the hearts of the leaders. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
